Paradise Trails?

If you would like to live near the UFO mansion, then Paradise Trails is for you. Located off of historic Route 66 (Interstate 40), this house can be yours for $219,000. The other three homes in this yet to be developed subdivision go from $169,000 to $209,000. On the glass half full side, these are half-acre lots. I'd also venture to say you won't have any neighbors for a good long time...maybe in your lifetime.

Here is their website: www.paradisetrailsaz.com

I think they could use your help if you are interested in a vacation home maybe? You're only 45 minutes from Lake Havasu, 20-30 minutes from Kingman, and five minutes from the UFO mansion.

It's just a shame Drive-In movies have fallen so hopelessly out of fashion? Looks like it would be perfect for the "Desert-Vue Drive-In"!

I'd go! I miss the drive-ins. Better than sitting in some stinky theater with your feet stuck to the floor. Yucca would be great for drive-ins, because there is no one there to complain about the lights, and it is darker than the ace of spades at night. There are very few places left in this country like it. Yucca got left behind in 1955.

Oh I agree. If the people next to you turn out to be real jerks you can always just pull over a few rows. Too bad there aren't more of us out there. One of the ideas I had was to just get really old 70's exploitation films where no one is around to even sue you and just go ahead and run them!

It wasn't until recently I learned most theaters only get concession stand revenue (not the gate). You'd have to develop some sort of cult following and BY... the 70's only die-hards were showing up at the drive-in anyway?

Man, what an excellent idea! Goodness I miss drive-in movies. Why did they stop having those?

Well... we're showing our age here a little but at 48 I'll have to say what I likely witnessed was more the decline of the drive-in (hardly the "golden age").

Joe Bob Griggs considers himself something of a 'drive-in historian' and most contend that the VCR spelled the death blow? Some argue it's that by the 60's families didn't do things together as much anymore? No one knows for certain but the crowds stopped coming and most are now strip malls (which Americans seem to think are much more fun?) Man... if they only knew!

"I" contend that it was the enforcement of drunk driving laws that killed the drive-in. You couldn't have any more than 3 beers and not run the risk of being handcuffed in front of your kids! Don't get me wrong, the lax attitude toward DUI was a disaster.

Instead... I suggest a "drive-in movie motel" where you can get as ignorant as you want b/c you already have a room key! My fear is that it would get out of control.

45 minutes from Lake Havasu?
20-30 minutes from Kingman?
And along Old 66?

Sounds like you're near Bullhead City. According to Zonies, the Colorado River Valley routinely posts the highest three-digit temperatures in Arizona, easily outstripping Phoenix and Tucson.

And Bullhead is just across the river from the money siphon of the Laughlin casinos. Whenever anybody in the area has two coins to rub together, they zip over the river to Laughlin and drop coin pull lever drop coin pull lever drop coin pull lever...
