It would be funny if it weren't so sad. Eventually, local kids will break the windows and tag some graffiti. More houses on the block will sink into foreclosure and add to the blight. Anyone who can afford to will flee the neighborhood. You are witnessing the birth of the suburban ghettoes of the 21st century.
My understanding is that's what happened to Moreno Valley as it was the farthest reaches of the last Cali boom in the late 80's?
They became entire neighborhoods of rentals and gangs. My friend (formerly of Perris, CA) always promises to bring me on a tour of the "Meth Country" and visit the "pit bull farms"?
When it's all said and done this will go down as the biggest waste of time, money and resources in human history! Ask yourself, how long will it be before the cops won't even patrol these far flung waste lands?
