This beautiful home is sitting on a super small lot. I've never seen such a big house on such a small lot. Only in California I guess. Do they do this in other states? Let me know...I'm curious.

Big houses on postage-stamp lots are de rigeur in the D.C. area. Apparently, the land is so expensive, builders can't turn a decent profit without cramming as much structure as possible on as little acreage as possible.
I understand that.
What I don't understand is how so may home buyers can have such low class and poor taste.
By the way, I've never seen such an extreme example as this in the D.C. area. Way to go CA! A true leader of absurdity.
Hey, I must disagree on part of this... lawns are a waste... a maintainance nightmare, water-wasters, artificial and phony as toupees in the semi-desert southland. Huzza for the planners who found out how to create density while leaving people happy with their craftily-packed McMansions.
dcrogers, what about having more privacy and a buffer zone between neighbors? I don't understand why people would spend a huge amount of money on a house and not even have privacy, quiet, or room to breathe outside. I guess people never go outside anymore. How sad.

But that said, it IS ugly.

This is the kind of yard all the new high-end homes in San Diego have. Anything bigger is called a farm ; )
