Nice View, Nice Try

Three years ago this lot would have sold for this asking price.

Nice view, but this person will be lucky to get $200,000 in my opinion.

It's a view of a bunch of ugly houses.
Who would pay for that?

I think you have to like the desert to appreciate it. I'll be the first to admit that Arizona isn't for everyone, but I love it.

Do you know how big the lot is?

Regardless of what you might think of the view, it makes a mockery of the real estate bulls' "land scarcity" argument. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Hi I Can't Sell My House,

I'm emailing you in regards to an email I sent to you last month about a partnership, have you had a chance to think about it?

If you would more information about the proposal, please let me know.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

tangelo,

Exactly. In the end Bob Schiller concluded that this was... a "land" bubble. Sure everybody loves to talk about the credit bubble, crunch etc. but even by 2002/3 in OR buildable lots were going for more than I paid for my 1st. HOUSE!

When you've paid upwards of 150/200k just for your basic 6,000 s/f lot nothing good can come of it. When you look at the implosion in the publicly traded builders the brunt of the write off was for ridiculously priced LAND options. I guess a 2 X 4 costs what a 2 X 4 costs? I'm "o.k" with that, but outside of Lower Manhattan there isn't a lot in the country worth 200k ( let alone 500k )

There are plenty of lots outside of Manhattan that are worth 200k. Malibu Beachfront for example.

This lot however isn't worth 100k just from looking at the picture. That's no wealthy desert enclave there.
